I met Lindsay completely by chance about a month before my due date and I couldn't be more grateful. She brought a calming presence and an empowering perspective to birth preparation. I knew I wanted to stay in control and have a calm birth, but I just wasn't sure how to go about it.

I met Lindsay completely by chance about a month before my due date and I couldn't be more grateful. She brought a calming presence and an empowering perspective to birth preparation. I knew I wanted to stay in control and have a calm birth, but I just wasn't sure how to go about it.

Through our time together, Lindsay introduced me to hypnobirthing tools that became essential during labor. The Rainbow Relaxation track, breathing techniques, quick counting, and time distortion all played a role in grounding me during Junie’s birth (Read below).

When labor started, I found myself calm, centered, and fully trusting my body and baby. Even during the most intense moments, I felt safe and capable. What could’ve been overwhelming turned into something euphoric and sacred. Somewhere between the surges and the stillness, I caught myself thinking, “I can’t wait to experience this again!".

Thanks to Lindsay, I was able to experience the birth I had envisioned. It was peaceful, powerful, and redemptive. I am deeply grateful for our serendipitous meeting and the gift of her guidance.

Junie’s Story...

At around 8:15 p.m., as we got into bed, I almost joked, “My membranes released!”—but held back, thinking it would be a cruel tease. Not even 30 minutes later, I felt a small ‘pop’. I was excited and hopeful—was labor starting? Brennan, ever the realist, promptly fell asleep saying, “If this is really happening, I need to be rested!”

When I stood up expecting a gush of fluid, nothing happened. Disappointed, I went back to coloring.

Since I was approaching 42 weeks, I’d planned to try the midwives’ brew the next morning. So, as advised by my midwife, I took some medication around 9:00 p.m. to get a good night’s rest beforehand. About 20 minutes later, I felt light cramping—chalked it up to pizza—and decided to listen to the Rainbow Relaxation hypnobirthing track, something that had become a regular part of my prep.

Out of curiosity, I began timing the sensations. Every 5.5 to 6 minutes—consistent. Looking back, they were definitely surges. I stopped timing and tried to rest, but lying down was impossible.

At 11:40 p.m., I called Carol. We chatted, but I soon had to pause to breathe through a surge. She was supporting another birth about an hour away and began arranging backup. She suggested I get in the bath to relax.

By 11:55 p.m., I woke Brennan and asked him to start the bath. At 12:04 a.m., I got in, but within a minute, I was right back out. I couldn’t sit due to the pressure. I began timing again and surges were now just a minute apart. The denial lifted. I texted Carol and told her I needed her. I moved downstairs and leaned over the ottoman, letting my body do what it needed to do.

At 12:31 a.m., we called my midwife, Krista, who confirmed I was in active labor.

At 12:31 a.m., we called my midwife, Krista, who confirmed I was in active labor.

Ari, the student midwife, arrived shortly after 1 a.m.—though it felt like just five minutes since I talked to Krista. Time was beautifully distorted. Ari helped me from the ottoman to the side of my bed, and that’s where I stayed for the rest of the night.

What followed felt sacred. I closed my eyes and surrendered. My body and baby led the way. I used quick counting during surges, one of the most powerful tools I had prepared. I found relief in pushing, focusing my breath downward. Carol gently reminded me that my breath was also my baby's breath.

At one point, I had a cervical lip holding her back. Krista helped guide her past it, and I could feel her moving through the birth canal. It wasn't painful, but rather euphoric. I remember having restful minutes where I thought to myself, "It's so cool that I'm doing this!" and "I want to do this again!".

Baby and I worked together as she continued her way down. I moved into different positions and continued to trust God, my body, baby, and birth team. A few minutes before baby arrived, Brennan tiptoed upstairs to use the restroom, worried the flush of the toilet downstairs might break my focus. He ended up missing the birth, which I didn't even realize until minutes later!

On March 29th at 2:56 a.m, Junie Joy was born. She was placed on my chest immediately, and it was my moment of redemption. It was raw, powerful, and beautiful. I was able to experience the golden hour, eat a bowl of warm buttered noodles, and snuggle with my family in bed on a Saturday morning.

What Families Are Saying…

‘Lindsay was so fun, warm and knowledgeable! She gave my husband and me the support we needed to have an unmedicated birth.

She helped me reframe birth and overcome the fears I had about it.

She also taught me how to relax both my mind and body, and thanks to the tools she shared with me, I achieved the unmedicated birth I had always wanted. The techniques she taught were not only helpful during pregnancy and birth, but I still use them now to relax and reconnect with myself.
I loved working with her—I highly recommend her.’

What Families Are Saying…

‘I felt that the course covered all the important topics on childbirth, offered very valuable practice on relaxation and visualization. We loved that we got informed on all of our options & rights while giving birth. Lindsay was a great educator, passionate while teaching, very patient & kind & very knowledgeable. She gave us the support we really needed at this time!

We loved how fun the sessions were, all the new & valuable information we learnt, the new relaxations & visualizations, the book & handbook, the emotional support, the short videos.

I feel very prepared to relax my mind & body, and that I have the right tools to make that happen. Thanks to this course I’ve been practicing consistently, and I know that all will come together on the birthing day.

We are so grateful for this program and for our instructor Lindsay! She is the best!’
